Perth gets more sunshine than any other Australian capital, so a hotel pool here isn’t a nice extra – it’s half the reason to book.
I’ve sorted the pool hotels I’d genuinely stay at by area, budget and type of trip, and flagged a couple that have changed recently.
Best Perth Hotels With an Infinity or Rooftop Pool
Most of Perth’s best infinity pools sit around Elizabeth Quay and the edge of the CBD, with views over the Swan River.
They’re usually on a podium level rather than the very top of the building, but the views still do the job.
The Ritz-Carlton, Perth has one of the most photographed hotel pools in the city. It’s a heated 24-metre infinity pool on level five, looking across the river from Elizabeth Quay.

Songbird Bar & Lounge sits on the same level, so a swim turns into a sundowner pretty easily.
The pool is heated, but guests often find it on the cool side in winter, so I’d treat it as a spring-to-autumn pool.
It’s one of the pricier options in Perth, and I’d save it for a special occasion or a couples’ weekend.
DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront is also at Elizabeth Quay, beside the Bell Tower and Barrack Street Jetty, with its own level five infinity pool facing the city and river.
The pool runs 6 am to 6 pm, and the rooftop bar 18 Knots up on level 18 is the better spot once the sun drops.
It usually comes in a tier below the Ritz-Carlton, which makes it the smart pick for a similar view on a mid-range budget.
Crowne Plaza Perth on Terrace Road has a 20-metre infinity pool on level three, looking over Langley Park and the river towards South Perth.
Free adult bike hire is a nice bonus, with the riverside path just across Langley Park.
The Westin Perth on Hay Street has a heated infinity-edge pool on level five. It’s at the eastern end of the CBD, a bit further from the river than the Elizabeth Quay hotels, and the pool can feel brisk on a windy day.
What makes it worth it is everything around the pool – Garum for Roman-style Italian, the Bodhi J day spa on site, and a club lounge with breakfast and evening drinks for club room guests. It’s a strong couples’ pick.
Best Heated and Indoor Hotel Pools in the Perth CBD
A heated or indoor pool is the safer bet from May to September, when Perth’s mornings get cool, and a lot of outdoor pools feel chilly. These are the ones I’d look at for a winter stay.
COMO The Treasury has a 20-metre heated indoor pool on the top floor, in a glass-walled space looking over the city. The hotel fills the restored 19th-century State Buildings on Cathedral Square.

It’s attached to the COMO Shambhala spa, and with only 48 rooms, it feels more like a private club than a city hotel.
It also has Wildflower, a fine-dining restaurant on the rooftop level, and Post, a more casual bistro. This is Perth’s top-end luxury pick and one of the pricier stays in WA, and it suits couples better than families.
Novotel Perth Murray Street has a heated outdoor pool on level 12 that runs all year, plus a sauna and steam room. In summer, the pool bar opens on Saturday afternoons, and Shafto Lane’s bars and eateries are right next door.

Duxton Hotel Perth at the eastern end of St Georges Terrace has a heated outdoor pool and spa, ringed with palm trees. It sits right next to the Perth Concert Hall, so it works well for a city break built around shows and dining.
Parmelia Hilton Perth on Mill Street has a heated outdoor pool with cabanas, and poolside drinks and snacks run all year. It’s tucked just off St Georges Terrace, a short walk to Elizabeth Quay and the Bell Tower.
Pan Pacific Perth on Adelaide Terrace keeps its outdoor pool heated to about 28 degrees.
Its pool is fully closed for a major refurbishment until the end of October 2026, so I’d skip it for a pool stay before November and confirm it’s reopened before booking after that.
It also runs family packages from time to time, with kids’ breakfast included.
Residence on Langley Park is the former Hyatt Regency on Adelaide Terrace, which dropped the Hyatt name in 2024.
It still has a heated pool and sauna, and its studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments suit longer stays. Plenty of older listings still call it the Hyatt, so it’s worth searching the new name when booking.
Best Hotel Pools in Burswood and Rivervale
Crown Perth in Burswood has the biggest hotel pool setup in the city, with separate pools for each of its three hotels.
It’s across the river from the CBD and a short walk from Optus Stadium, which makes the area handy for AFL games and concerts.
Crown Towers Perth has multi-tiered lagoon pools with daybeds, poolside dining and staff bringing drinks over. The pool is for in-house guests only, so there’s no crowd of day visitors.

Alongside the main lagoons, there’s a shallow beach-entry section and a small plunge pool for younger kids, and it fills up on hot weekends, so it’s worth getting down early for a lounger.
The Enclave is the private section, with cabanas wrapped around their own infinity pool. It’s 18-plus only, and cabana hire costs extra on top of the room, so it’s one for a splurge rather than a family day.
Crown Metropol Perth is the one I’d pick for kids. The poolside area has a large main pool, a relaxation pool and a family pool, plus outdoor waterslides, and there are heated indoor pools and spas for cooler days.
Locals say its pool is often quieter than the Towers one, which makes it a good-value way to get the Crown pool experience.
The slides are for kids 12 and under and run Friday 2 pm to 5 pm, Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm, and daily 9 am to 5 pm in school holidays. They close in high winds or rain, so a weekend or holiday stay gets the most out of them.
There’s also an indoor Kids Hub with arcade games for when everyone needs a break from the sun.
Crown Promenade Perth is usually the most affordable of the three Crown hotels. It has its own outdoor pool and sundeck rather than access to the Towers or Metropol pools, open 8 am to 6 pm for in-house guests. It’s the easy way to get the Crown location without paying Towers prices.
Aloft Perth is a four-star hotel in nearby Rivervale with an outdoor pool and garden, about a five-minute drive from Crown and Optus Stadium.
It’s handy for the airport too, and it’s usually cheaper than the five-star hotels across the river in the CBD.
Best Hotels With a Pool in Northbridge and the CBD’s West End
These two suit anyone who wants bars, restaurants and city sights on the doorstep. The pools are smaller than the resort-style setups, but both are four-star hotels that cost less than the CBD’s five-star names.
DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge on James Street has an outdoor pool deck up above Northbridge, and it’s one of the cheaper four-star hotels in the city outside peak dates.
It’s a short walk to the WA Museum Boola Bardip – I’ve written a full WA Museum Boola Bardip review if that’s on the list.
The Adnate – Art Series at 900 Hay Street, in the west end of the CBD, has an outdoor pool with a poolside bar.
It’s a minute’s walk to St Georges Terrace and about eight minutes to Elizabeth Quay, and the whole hotel is themed around the street artist Adnate, with murals throughout the building.
Fremantle Hotels With a Pool
Fremantle is the best base for anyone who’d rather walk to the markets, the harbour and the ferry to Rottnest than stay in the CBD. Two hotels here have proper pool setups.
Esplanade Hotel Fremantle – by Rydges has two outdoor pools surrounded by palms, with some rooms looking straight down onto them. It overlooks Esplanade Park, and Fremantle Markets is a few minutes’ walk away.
Tradewinds Hotel Fremantle in East Fremantle has an outdoor pool and a separate kids’ pool, with free cabanas, loungers and umbrellas.

It’s quieter than the centre of Fremantle and one of the more family-friendly options south of the river.
Best Value Hotels With a Pool in Perth
Perth doesn’t have many true budget hotels with a pool, so the best value comes from four-star hotels priced below the CBD’s five-star names. DoubleTree Northbridge (above) is one, and Pagoda is the other I’d look at first.
Pagoda Resort & Spa in Como is a 4.5-star resort, not a budget motel, but its rates often come in under comparable city hotels.
It has a heated outdoor pool, a sauna, family suites and one- and two-bedroom apartments, which takes the pressure off a family budget.
It’s on Melville Parade, a few minutes’ walk from Como Jetty and the riverside path, and the CBD is about a 10-minute drive away.
Family-Friendly Pool Resorts Beyond the City
If the pool is the main event, a resort a bit further out often beats a city hotel.
Novotel Swan Valley Vines Resort in The Vines has three outdoor pools, including a kids’ pool, plus a playground, mini golf and golf.
It’s about a 35-minute drive from the CBD and close to the Swan Valley wineries, chocolate shops and breweries.
Discovery Resorts – Rottnest Island has a 30-metre pool with a pool bar, just for guests staying in its eco-tents.
It’s a short walk to Pinky Beach, and quokkas wander through the grounds. My Rottnest Island itinerary covers how to plan the rest of the island.
Seashells Mandurah is about an hour’s drive south, on the beach at Comet Bay next to Mandurah Ocean Marina.

Its heated infinity-edge pool runs along the beachfront, and the self-contained one- and two-bedroom apartments work well for families.
The Scarborough Pool That’s Closed Until 2027
Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough used to top most lists for its lagoon pool, waterfall and pool bar facing the Indian Ocean.
That pool is now closed for upgrades. The hotel’s own site doesn’t give a reopening date, but booking notices say it’s expected to stay closed until late 2027.
In the meantime, the hotel gives guests free entry to Scarborough Beach Pool, about a two-minute walk away.

It’s a heated 50-metre public pool right on the foreshore, so it’s a decent swap – just not the private resort feel older reviews describe.
For more on the coast here, my guide to beaches in Western Australia covers Scarborough and Cottesloe.
How Much a Perth Hotel With a Pool Costs
Prices swing a lot around school holidays, Perth Festival and big Optus Stadium events, so I’m sticking to tiers rather than figures.
💸 Best value – DoubleTree Northbridge and Pagoda Resort & Spa usually cost the least while still having a proper pool.
💸 Mid-range – DoubleTree Waterfront, Crowne Plaza, Novotel Murray Street, The Adnate, Aloft Perth, Pan Pacific, Crown Promenade, Crown Metropol, Residence on Langley Park, the two Fremantle hotels, Rendezvous Scarborough, Novotel Swan Valley Vines Resort, Discovery Rottnest and Seashells Mandurah cover most trips well.
💸 Five-star without the top price – The Duxton and Parmelia Hilton are both five-star hotels that often price closer to the upper mid-range.
💸 Luxury splurges – The Ritz-Carlton, COMO The Treasury, The Westin and Crown Towers are the pricier options, and they’re worth it when the pool and the wider hotel are part of the holiday.
Each hotel’s own site has current rates, and booking direct sometimes includes breakfast or parking.
Which Perth Pool Hotel Suits Which Trip
👫 Couples – The Ritz-Carlton, The Westin or COMO The Treasury for a special occasion, or DoubleTree Waterfront for the river view on a smaller budget.
🧑🧑🧒🧒 Families – Crown Metropol for the waterslides, Tradewinds for its kids’ pool and free cabanas, or Novotel Swan Valley Vines Resort for three pools and room to run around. In the city, Pan Pacific’s family packages are worth watching for.
Value-focused travellers – DoubleTree Northbridge or Pagoda Resort & Spa.
Solo and business travellers – Novotel Murray Street or the Duxton, both close to St Georges Terrace and the free CBD buses.
First-timers – Anywhere near Elizabeth Quay, since Kings Park, the ferry and the CBD are all walkable from there. My Perth itinerary shows how to fit it all into a few days.
For a suburb-by-suburb breakdown that goes beyond pools, my guide on where to stay in Perth has it covered.
Best Time of Year for a Pool Stay in Perth
December to March is peak pool season in Perth, with plenty of days above 30 degrees and the odd one pushing past 40. Afternoons usually cool off when the Fremantle Doctor sea breeze rolls in.
October, November and April are my favourite months for a pool-focused stay. The water’s warm enough, the crowds are lighter, and spring brings the wildflowers in Kings Park.
From June to August, Perth is mild but wet, with highs around 18 to 19 degrees. That’s when a heated pool like COMO, Novotel Murray Street or the Duxton is worth prioritising.
COMO’s indoor pool is the one most sheltered from the weather, and Crown Metropol’s heated indoor pools are a good family alternative.
Know Before You Go
✅ Guest-only pools – Most Perth hotel pools, including Crown Towers and Discovery Rottnest, are for in-house guests only, so a dinner booking doesn’t get anyone a swim.
The closest thing to a pool day pass is a daytime room booking on Dayuse, but only listings marked “pool access included” actually cover the pool.
✅ No pool at QT – QT Perth is a popular staycation pick for its rooftop bar, but it doesn’t have a pool, so it’s not one for this list.
✅ Check pool hours – Some close early, like DoubleTree Waterfront at 6 pm, and Crown Metropol’s waterslides only run on set days.
✅ Age rules – The Enclave at Crown Towers is 18-plus, and all three Crown hotels require the person checking in to be 18 or over.
✅ Renovations – Rendezvous Scarborough’s pool is expected to stay closed until late 2027, and Pan Pacific’s pool is fully closed for refurbishment until the end of October 2026. A quick email to the hotel before booking saves a disappointing arrival.
✅ Parking – Crown Perth has several free car parks on site, though they get hectic during big Optus Stadium events. It’s worth asking the hotel which car park to use when booking.
Most CBD hotels charge for parking, so it’s usually cheaper to skip the hire car and use the free CBD buses and Transperth trains. The Airport Line now runs trains from the airport into the city.
✅ Sun – The UV in Perth is fierce even on mild days, so shade, sunscreen and a hat matter more than at most hotel pools elsewhere in Australia 🌞
✅ Book ahead – Hotels near Optus Stadium and Elizabeth Quay fill up fast on AFL weekends, big concert nights and during Perth Festival in February and March.
More Perth and WA Planning
For the full picture of what to do between swims, my things to do in Perth guide covers the city, Fremantle and the coast.
For anyone comparing cities for a pool holiday, I’ve also rounded up Sydney hotels with rooftop pools, Brisbane hotels with a pool and Adelaide hotels with a pool.
There’s plenty more around the state in my Western Australia travel guides.
