As the year winds down, property interest ramps up. While playlists get their annual recap, Australia’s housing market does the same.
A new release from Domain reveals the suburbs Australians focus on most in 2025, based on listing views that show where attention and aspiration sit right now.
The report analyses a full year of views across houses and apartments, highlighting suburbs with the highest clicks per listing. These figures matter. They point to the neighbourhoods people find most desirable, even if buying is still a future plan rather than an immediate move.
Prestige suburbs dominate the rankings. These are areas where buyers tend to be less sensitive to interest rate changes and more focused on securing a home in a specific location.
At the same time, aspirational browsing plays a role. Some suburbs attract strong interest simply because they represent the ideal lifestyle, despite ongoing affordability pressures.
Sydney’s most viewed suburb is Birchgrove. This harbourside pocket in the inner west offers a village-style feel with tree-lined streets, heritage homes, ferry access, and water views. Homes rarely come to market here, which keeps demand and curiosity high.
In Melbourne, Albert Park once again claims the top spot. Its position between the CBD and the beach, combined with heritage-protected homes and limited listings, keeps competition strong and demand consistent.

Brisbane’s standout suburb in 2025 is New Beith. Interest here reflects a growing preference for space, with acreage, newer homes, and room for families driving demand in Greater Brisbane.
Canberra sees Ainslie take first place. Located just minutes from the CBD, this inner-north suburb blends leafy streets, heritage cottages, café culture, and easy access to nature, making it a consistent favourite.
Perth’s most viewed suburb is Serpentine. This growing semi-rural town attracts attention for its proximity to Serpentine Falls, wide open spaces, and a balance between natural surroundings and new residential development.
In Adelaide, Woodside stands out. Rising prices closer to the city shift attention to this Adelaide Hills town, where heritage streets, a strong food and wine scene, and a slower pace of life appeal to buyers.
Hobart’s top suburb is West Hobart. Creative energy, character homes, leafy streets, and elevated views combine with easy city access to keep interest high.
Darwin rounds out the list with Bees Creek. Located on the city’s outskirts, it attracts buyers looking for larger blocks, open space, and a connection to nature, while still maintaining a manageable commute.
